Evidence rules

Every item needs context

  • Every photo/video must include a plain-language note describing what is visible.
  • New captures should request device GPS/time and weather/wind context, especially wind speed, gust, and direction.
  • Existing uploads should preserve originals and extract available metadata; if date/location metadata is missing, the client must enter it and attest it is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
  • The report should sort observations by observed date/time and keep media hash/file metadata in the media log.

iPhone metadata setup

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security → Location Services.
  3. Make sure Location Services is on.
  4. Tap Camera.
  5. Select While Using the App.
  6. Turn Precise Location on when available.

Android metadata setup

  1. Open the Camera app settings.
  2. Turn on Location tags, Save location, or Geo-tagging.
  3. Open Android Settings → Location and make sure Location is on.
  4. Open Settings → Apps → Camera → Permissions → Location and allow location while using the app.

Upload originals

  1. Upload original photos/videos directly when possible.
  2. Screenshots, text-message copies, and some social/messaging apps may strip metadata.
  3. If metadata is missing, Field Axiom will ask for the observed date/time/location and a client attestation.

Safe report lane

Dust reports document visible conditions, client-submitted observations, preserved media, metadata, and weather/wind context for attorney/client review. Field Axiom does not make final legal, EPA, OSHA, code, engineering, causation, fault, or liability conclusions. Regulatory references can be included as contextual materials for attorney review only.

Observation and documentation only

Field Axiom organizes client-submitted materials, available metadata, and visible conditions into an observation-based documentation packet for attorney/client review. Field Axiom does not provide legal advice, private-investigation services, OSHA/code enforcement, engineering, surveying, certified inspection, causation, fault, liability, damages, or repair-scope conclusions. Conditions described in a report are limited to what is visible in the provided materials or documented from authorized, accessible areas at the time of observation, and may warrant review by counsel or the appropriate licensed professional.
